One year ago, Punter Southall decided to align the Psigma Investment Management brand as a separate division with a sole focus on financial advisers and their clients. This decision recognised the strong market position Psigma had built over many years working closely with external advisers, and signalled Punter Southall’s ongoing commitment to this distribution channel. Now, one year later, the wisdom of this decision has been demonstrated, with Psigma having experienced another 12 months of strong growth and performance despite the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Client-focused, inflation-plus investment solutions

Psigma’s focus on multi-asset, inflation-plus investing has played a key role in this success. With this investment proposition we offer clients products designed to grow and protect the real value of their assets while matching their attitudes to risk.

Our continued success with this approach to investment has been down to the strength of our investment management. At Psigma, we are fortunate to have a highly experienced investment team led by Tom Becket, our CIO, comprising individuals personally committed to delivering the best outcomes for clients. From the outset, Psigma has pioneered inflation-plus investing, and Tom has played a pivotal role in this, heading up Psigma’s Investment Process, asset allocation decisions, and developing a network of trusted fund management contacts through the UK, Europe, America and the Far East to ensure that our investment decisions are robust. The strength our investment proposition has received high recognition from Defaqto:

We are one of only 15 DFMs to have been awarded a 5 star rating across all three categories. We are also one of just seven discretionary management firms with propositions in both the DFM Bespoke and DFM MPS Direct categories that have seen both offerings achieve 5 Star Ratings for eight consecutive years (2013 to 2020 inclusive).

Applying Psigma’s investment principles to Socially Responsible Investing

At Psigma, we recognise that investment management has an important role to play in tackling the environmental and social challenges facing us today. For this reason, we launched our own Socially Responsible Investing (SRI) range within our Managed Portfolio Service. Building on our established multi-asset expertise and inflation-plus philosophy, Psigma’s SRI investment solutions are designed to meet a client’s dual objective of achieving attractive investment returns through an investment portfolio that reflects their values.

Psigma’s SRI solutions are among the select few that have been externally reviewed by Defaqto and carry the Defaqto ESG Review logo. In addition, each SRI portfolio is part of our MPS proposition that carries a Defaqto 5 Star Rating for 2020.
