PART 1

Last week, the “Great” and the “Good” of the global economy and major industry descended upon Davos for their annual “pow wow”. Amazingly, I must still be on the “naughty list” as I was not invited. Very few snippets that emerged from the mostly bilious outpourings of politicians and CEOs were of interest; most of the discussion matter is normally backward looking at this annual shindig. However, one interview really grabbed our attention, where a CIO of a major hedge fund proclaimed that the global economy was now free of the “boom and bust” cycle of the past. Really? I’m sure I’ve heard this before? It was somewhat contrary therefore at the same time that we were out marketing our investment views and discussing the “Turbulent Twenties” ahead and how investors should ensure that there is “Balance” in their portfolios for the unpredictable years ahead. We hope you will join us in this latest series of blogs where we will discuss the decade ahead and outline our solutions for investors.
